The Ports and Shipping Administration
Bureau of Zhejiang Province (Ports and Shipping Bureau) mainly
conducts macro control over the security of waterway transportation,
prevention of water pollution, waterway transportation and communication
management, waterway management, ports management, and inspection
of ships (inspection of the ships' quality compliance). In addition,
the Ports and Shipping Bureau drafts policies and rules and
regulations relating to shipping on behalf of the Administration
of Communication, which shall be published to the public by
the Ports and Shipping Bureau in the name of the Administration
after duly signed by the relevant offices of the Administration.
The main duties of the Ports and Shipping Bureau include engineering
construction, ship construction, waterway police, and inspection
of ship products, among which the last two are special duties
for the Ports and Shipping Bureau. |
